Coastal South Carolina Private Plantation Wedding
When the venue happens to be a historic family-owned waterside plantation, you know the Big Day is bound to be beautiful. From Jacin Fitzgerald Events (formerly Lovely Little Details) incorporating their love of the sea, to the sweet Southern invitations from Momental Designs, to the father’s surprise dance, Tec Petaja snapped every moment of merriment, while Shaking Hands Productions captured their timeless love on film below!

Beth Ann + Wesley were married at the groom’s family’s private plantation right on the water in historic Georgetown, South Carolina. Their 480+ guest wedding felt like an intimate gathering thanks to the event being broken in to several “vignettes” scattered around the property, from the ceremony overlooking the water (with a surprise gospel choir singing “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher” at the conclusion), to cocktails + canapes in front of the plantation, to a plated dinner set in a custom built 50’x150′ tent, to dancing under the stars on the back lawn (with a surprise guest singer arranged by the father of the bride for the first dance, Edwin McCain!), to libations and merriment in the “man cave” bourbon bar and custom built bar around the property’s oldest oak tree. Fun facts: the planner had to work with a neighbor the week before the wedding to relocate alligators from the cocktail hour pond area (no gators were hurt in the process, they were just moved to a better location), and she also traded jars of homemade jam with a local blueberry farm in exchange for using blueberry bush sprigs in the arrangements. As a nod to the couple’s love of the sea and the location of the property set right on the water, they incorporated mussel and oyster shells in the place settings as salt + pepper cellars, and hand-lettered driftwood place cards for each guest. The bride’s sister surprised the couple with a butterfly release at the end of the ceremony to evoke the “butterflies” the bride felt when she met her groom. The bride + groom made their own wine the summer before in Italy, and served it at the wedding to all of their guests…. So many amazing and heartfelt details went in to this wedding but one of the guests said it best “Just wanted to say I woke up happy from your out-of-this-world wedding. It did what all good weddings should…Renewed mine and I’m sure countless others faith and hope in love and marriage!” Photography: Tec Petaja | Videographer: Shaking Hands Productions | Cake: Incredible Edibles | Stationery: Momental Designs | Bride's Shoes: Jimmy Choo | Bridesmaid Dresses: Amsale | Hair & Makeup: TEAM Hair and Makeup | Calligrapher: At Your Side Planning | String Quartet: Classical Charleston | Antique Doors: Ted Watts | Bride's Earrings: Yael Designs | Bride's Gown (Purchased From Joan Pillow In ATL): Anna Maier | Catering + Bar: Cru Catering | Ceremony + Reception: Jacin Fitzgerald Events | Cocktail Hour / Reception Musicians: Sol Fusion | Driftwood Arch + Driftwood Wine Bottle Candleholders: At Your Side Planning | Gospel Choir: Clelia Reardon | Landscaping: Jacin Fitzgerald Events | Lighting + Custom Bar + Walls: Production Design Associates | Linen Rentals: BBJ La Tavola | Logistics: Dove Tail Logistics | Mosquito Control: Mosquito Pest Experts | Photobooth: Michael Newton | Restrooms: Nature's Calling | Security: Knight Protection Services | Tent Draping: Duvall | Tent, Custom Built Flooring, Rentals: Snyder | Valet: Shoreline Valet | Wedding Invitation + Save The Date Design / Painting: Momental Designs | Wedding Planner, Designer + Florist: Jacin Fitzgerald Events
