I knew I’d be a fan of this wedding as soon as I saw that it took place in Kennebunkport. But then I saw all the pups, the little ones, this lovely Bride and these sort of views (thanks to the gorgeous location of the Bush family’s – as in the two past presidents – private estate) and I’m head over heels. From Stephanie A Smith… Nothing beats a gorgeous coastal wedding with a beautiful bride and groom, many friends and family members and LOTS of puppies. At least not in my book. But add to that two former presidents and one governor of the United States of America, a 29-piece band, and a tented reception for close to 300 people and you have yourself a priceless celebration.
Ellie and Nick were married on September 27th, 2014. I loved Ellie’s vision for her day. It was soft, romantic, and elegant. The blush and mint colored bridesmaids dresses matched perfectly with the beautiful peonies bouquets from Fleurant. The old woody and retro trolley that transported guests to and from venues added to the charm of the coastal engagement. No stone was left unturned as the wooden farm tables were adorned with a mix match of florals and glass pieces. The Bride and Groom signs and city signs were created by a local artist tying into the Kennebunk charm.
Some of my favorite memories from the day included colorful striped socks worn by the groom and his groomsmen as a nod to President Bush Sr (he loves to sport fun footwear). I also loved seeing dogs run around on the property all night. This included the Bush Sr’s two pups as well as Ellie’s two loves, Tess and Rocky. It truly was a gorgeous affair that I feel honored to be a part of.
