I would have never imagined glamour and an industrial style getting along, but after soaking up this shoot by Mikkel Paige, Moana Events and Burnett’s Boards, I’m pretty sure they’re a match made in heaven. Complimenting each other’s style, shown perfectly with this stationery suite by Bliss & Bone, these two aesthetics together just became a new favorite of mine. See why I’m so obsessed right here.
From Burnett’s Boards… For this wedding inspiration shoot, Mikkel Paige Photography, Moana Events, and Burnett’s Boards teamed up in Honolulu to conceptualize a decidedly atypical Hawaiian bridal design – one of industrial glamour with a heavy dose of uniquely utilitarian styling details. Shot in a un-occupied warehouse in the business district of Honolulu, Hawaii, the design was inspired by the barren space and exposed elements.
The table was constructed using flooring tiles, flipped on their reverse side to add texture to the tabletop and mimic the formal marble wedding invitations by Bliss & Bone. Black Louis ghost chairs wrapped in copper wire add a dark and glamorous tone, while stately pillar candles in vintage gold candleholders add a romantic bent with hand-calligraphied French love poems written on them. Each place setting was set with antique gold flatware, a formal black linen napkin and a beautiful calligraphy love poem garnished with a single blossom.
The industrial copper wire elements were carried throughout the shoot on the gold-dipped long-stem bouquet and again on the modern white cake. Florist Grand used a beautifully dramatic ‘pearl’ concept to create floral spheres spilling across the table from an over-sized gold urn.
Gold-leaf was applied by hand to a dramatic floor-length black tulle veil and added the ultimate gilded touch to model Meaghan’s glamorous hair and makeup and Oscar-worthy gold gown.
