From The Bride…Even before becoming engaged I knew my wedding would breathe the nostalgia of the past. It had to be rustic and vintage but with the glamour of Paris – our favorite city.
The first thing we did was to decide to work with Bodas de Cuento, our wedding planners, who helped us during the organization and wedding design process. Then, we worked to find the perfect venue for the reception which could achieve this mix of feelings and contrasts. When I saw that classic Catalan country house from the 18th century, Masia Ribas, I realized it was the place for us. It had to be there. The gorgeous forest would be the perfect and bucolic rustic scenery and the house will allow us to achieve that combination of a vintage, romantic and glamorous atmosphere for the moment of the dinner.
Then we knew we had to think of colors. Colors were really important for us thinking about our wedding decoration and ambience. We needed some golden to evoke that palace air, off-white and brown would get the vintage-rustic atmosphere and pale pink would wrap everything in an atmosphere of romance and sweetness.
As a fashion blogger, I have worked with many photographers and to me was really important the style of photography I wanted for our wedding memories. When I found Joseba Sandoval of Romance Weddings, I knew that him and Mar had to be part of our big day. I discovered their work on Style Me Pretty and it was love at first sight. They do a magical work, and it was just a dream for us to count on them to shoot our big day. We also found Basilico Studio for our wedding film and they were able to perfectly capture all the emotions experienced that day.
After the colors, we wanted to set the tables decor and we tried different combinations of chair, shallow dish, cups … at first moment it was not easy because I already had the picture on my mind of what I was looking for, but finally we found the perfect one. When I visualized the pink linen tablecloth and golden Napoleon chair, I just could imagine how would the full salon look like, and all the other wedding stuff was really easy to find: the flowers, the details and even my dress.
The dress was almost the last thing I decided a few months before the wedding. Once again, I had to unify vintage, glamour, rustic, princess dress but far away from the obvious style. Working in fashion, I just wanted to feel very unique with my own personal touch. It was a Rosa Clará amazing gown in which creation process I could participate: strapless dress and cut at the waist, crafted in rustic ottoman silk skirt with a skirt full of scarves and open back. Also, for the church I wore a French bolero in guipure lace with mounted sleeves and boat neckline. The veil was silky tulle, off-white color. I also chose non-traditional wedding shoes -iconic YSL Tribute sandals in pale pink, a gift from my lovely sister. The tiara and the belt were made by order because I wanted something gold in my dress just to be paired with the golden details in the tables.
For the party I wore a second wedding dress: strapless pink tulle gown of Hellenic inspiration. And to continue with the decor, outdoor details like a large chandelier that hung from an ancient tree were those little things that made the wedding be our dreamed wedding. The photocall in pink and with an Instax camera created a magical and totally vintage corner. Like the corner of the seating plan, made of wooden boards hanging from an ancient tree. Like the swing, an element that was the delight of the guests and, at the same time, fulfilled a dream.
The floral design was made by Pedro Navarro, his work is really gorgeous and he worked in an amazing way our inspiration. My wedding bouquet was made also by him, with hydrangeas in pink and pistachios tones, branched roses in pastel champagne and pink English roses, white and pink astilbe and Italian green eucalyptus. The bouquet was holded by a piece of vintage lace that I found in Paris, and dated from the 20’s (Belle Époque). Like a secret treasure I could hold in my hands with tons of love while I was walking down the aisle, with Beyonce’s Ave Maria, to be reunited with my future husband, at Santa Maria Reina de Pedralbes church, in Barcelona.
