Rustic Oregon Barn Wedding
When the Groom popped the big question - in the attic of their barn under strings of lights and a table set for two - it only made sense to say "I do" where it all went down. Along with family and friends, they worked hard to gussy up their property for the Big Day and the payoff was tenfold. See all the love through the lens of Maria Lamb right over here.
From The Bride...I would say I am a fairly quiet person, I always knew I would say “yes” when Josh asked me to marry him but on the day we got engaged I think I actually screamed “YES!”. Every detail Josh had dreamed up was so thoughtful and original, I was overjoyed. Josh asked me to marry him at the end of the night, on one knee, in the attic of our barn, under strings of lights and a table set for two. Many of our friends were involved in our engagement, and in their own special way made it one of my favorite memories of my life. We were engaged in our barn and we knew it would only be right to celebrate our wedding and reception on our property as well. From planting new grass, to building fences, to trenching new water lines we really jumped into this wedding planning thing with both feet.
Josh and I are surrounded by the most helpful, giving and loving family and friends who spent countless hours helping us build, prep and clean so that when September 6th rolled around everything would be perfect, and that it was. It was a hot day in Oregon, hitting around 95 degrees by the afternoon, but between the shade from the fir trees, the light wind and the sweet drinks, nobody was complaining. We had a small, intimate ceremony in our garden and dinner in our barn with around forty family and friends. We shared memories and cheered to the good times. Around seven o’clock the band started, neighbors came over and more family and friends piled in. Everyone put on their dancing shoes and we celebrated late into the night. It was the perfect day.
