Rustic Italian Dream Wedding in Tuscany
A wedding in Tuscany planned by Italy Weddings? It sounds like a dream, and from the looks of David Bastianoni's stunning images below this couples' big day was everything you could possible imagine and more. With a rustic yet elegant feel and pretty little details around every corner, this gallery is filled with too much pretty to count.
From Italy Weddings...As Stacey and Chris say, they did not have a totally clear idea, or a strong theme for their event, but communicating with them, we were able to understand their personal style, and get to know what were the important points essential to their wedding week in Tuscany. So often for a wedding in a land with so much character and personality as Tuscany, and with a villa such as this, it can be better to allow the location, the local cuisine and culture, and the architecture and style of the setting be the theme, rather them imposing anything more forceful on top of that. And Tuscany does this so well: simple but tasty food, welcoming people, stunning hilltop villages such as Volterra, where this lovely couple were married. We dipped in to the resources of the area, and created a special day for the couple never to forget. Marisa and Ben worked closely with the bride and groom on the floral design and the lighting project, to make the mood of the wedding day special, a strong belief for us, in a location where the guests are staying for a full week is to make the wedding event clearly a special, important and thought out day.
From the Bride...Both Chris and I are avid travelers so it was natural for us to get engaged in London and then, that same trip, while on a week-long cycling tour of Tuscany have the seed planted to actually get married in this beautiful part of Italy. We live in Canada but have family & friends spread all over (me being a native Canadian and Chris finding his way here via New Zealand and Australia) coast-to-coast across Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, England so we decided to make a week of it and invite our closest people to a villa just outside of Volterra in the stunning Tuscan country-side. Ben Singleton of Italyweddings was absolutely indispensable seeing as we planned and orchestrated the entire week from Vancouver, primarily via email and only had the luxury of meeting him in person for the first time once we arrived in Italy. We did not have crystal clear vision of our day, expect that we wanted to keep in natural, rustic but with a touch of whimsy and elegance so as not to take away from the unbelievable natural scenery – and it was all that and more! From the luxurious and comfortable family style accommodations, catered dinners followed by 4am dance parties (more than 1!) , a wedding that went off without a hitch in the jaw-dropping town hall of Volterra and many, many bottles of wine. We could not have done it without Ben and his team. We thank David Bastianoni SO much for all he did for us. Everything was manic and amazingly crazy and David was able to shoot some absolutely beautiful shots we will adore forever. As our hashtag says, #IdoItaly -- and we certainly did!
