Romantic Backyard Wedding
You might not believe me, but this gorgeous wedding? Well, it took place in the Bride's parents backyard. Yes, this is their backyard (stunning right?!). It proves that sometimes the best venue is right at home, and end result is downright dreamy. Especially with Kismet Creative capturing every moment, and Spread Love Events styling the day. Taryn Baxter snapped a gallery filled with love, right here!
From Taryn Baxter... This wedding is one of my favorite weddings! I especially loved this wedding venue - the Bride's parents backyard, all the pretty details put together by Spread Love Events, and the gorgeous couple who were so sweet and gorgeous!
From the beautiful Bride… The moment I stepped foot onto my parents ocean front property I knew this was the place I wanted to have my wedding. An intimate wedding with our closest family and friends.
My husband and I got engaged on Valentine's Day – Adam woke up bright and early to bring me my morning coffee in bed. I immediately noticed the unfamiliar mug and instantly felt a jolt of nerves. To my surprise I turned the mug and it read “Will you marry me?” on the side – I said YES! The water works turned on and phone calls to family and friends began. Then, almost immediately, the planning started - everything for the wedding came together quickly and seamlessly thanks to my amazing planner Ashley Bond with Spread Love Events. I chose a very classic color palette of white, blush pink, touches of gold and natural woods. I thought I had a good idea of what I wanted, but Ashley took my ideas and made them a dream - I couldn't have done it without her and the Spread Love Team.
My dress was everything I had ever dreamed it would be. The long lace train and little bit of sparkle on the straps made me feel like a princess. My mom sister and I went to the bridal gallery to start the dress shopping I was so excited! I didn't have a set image or specific dress in my head that I wanted so it was a shock to find the one I loved so fast. It was the third dress I tried on, love at first sight. I said yes to the dress!
For my 'maids dresses I was on the hunt for blush pink maxi dresses for what seemed like forever. Searching through Polyvore.com was part of my daily routine. One day I was flipping through the pictures and found the one which, to my surprise, was from forever 21. I decided to just give it a shot and see how they looked on the girls. It turns out they were perfect! They were casual and elegant perfect for the backyard setting. Of course it helped having such a stunning girls wearing them!
The venue was at my parent’s house. It was surreal to get ready in the house I grew up in – this included all the people I grew up with even our family pets. Looking outside my bedroom window from above, watching my soon to be husband standing in his suit waiting for me to come down for our first look…it was everything I had ever hoped it would be and more.
Adam and I chose to do a first look because both of us tend to be on the shy side - we wanted it to be intimate without a whole crowd of people looking at us to add to the wedding day nerves and pressure. We felt that sharing our first look with just the two of us would allow for us to be truly comfortable and let our sincere emotions show.
The ceremony took place on one side of the property where our backdrop was looking out at the Pacific Ocean – the breeze of the ocean added the perfect touch of home. Once the ceremony was over, we celebrated with a champagne toast and cocktail hour – my two older brothers took on the role of being our Mastery of Ceremonies and they blew me away with both tears and laughter.
The day went off without a hitch and I truly felt like the luckiest girl in the world. It was over in a flash, but it was an amazing feeling being surrounded by so much love - I wouldn't change a single detail.
From Spread Love Events... There is something so magical about getting married at your family home where so many memories have been made. On Brie and Adam’s wedding day, it’s as if the grass, trees and sparkling blue ocean below knew to look their best (however I know Brie’s parents had a hand in at least the former two). From the moment I met Brie, she had a very clear vision and style for her and Adam’s wedding and was a joy to work with. She wanted to highlight the gorgeous environment, with nothing too fussy, and yet still a little sparkle. From natural linen fabric and woods, to glimmering gold and shades of blush mercury glass votives that illuminated the long reception tables, rope chandeliers and the lush garden style floral arrangements by Celsia Florist, a balance a was struck. A lounge with linen seats, coastal crate style coffee tables and lanterns hung in the trees created an inviting mingling space for guests overlooking the ocean. At night, strings of globe lights lit up the cliff side, doubling as a safety precaution. Hand-painted wood signage welcomed guests and created an elegant and inviting atmosphere. They dined and danced under a beautiful marquee, laughed at thoughtful speeches and at the end of the night, the new Mr. & Mrs. exited through a tunnel of sparklers, held up by their guests. The energy and love among Brie and Adam’s family and friends was contagious and it was such a privilege to be a part of creating their celebration!
