Tis the day for all things gorgeously green and Irish and this shoot by Jenna Henderson with Cedarwood Weddings has all that plus a stationery suite by Designs in Paper that I can’t stop ogling at. With mid-century modern design elements and some amazing copper accents, I feel lucky just gazing upon all these pics. Grab a Guinness and let’s celebrate St. Paddy with these green gems.
From Cedarwood Weddings… The Cedarwood design team in Nashville is sharing our love of mid-century-modern style today in a fun collaboration of copper and emerald, showcasing a couple’s Irish heritage. Despite a super windy day that challenged us a bit, photographer Jenna Henderson was able to capture the event design details in film.
Our design team had been dreaming of combining geometric elements found in mid century modern design with metallic copper and emerald, set in natural outdoor landscapes. The 50 acres of Historic Cedarwood’s estate is a flexible backdrop for ever-changing event design, and we enjoy creating new styling combinations.
Our copper and emerald green color palette found inspiration in the rich hues of hammered copper and vintage “forest charm” glassware. Pieces of these iconic emerald tabletop accents from our vintage collections are from the 40’s-50’s era and we pair them with equally iconic ghost chairs of the mid century period.
Copper pennies drilled to attach custom printed tags saying “Lucky us” are key chain guest favors. A glittered copper styled wine bar features the bride and groom’s signature cocktail “Lucky in Love,” a celebration of their union and nod to their irish heritage. We even found vintage emerald green glass shamrocks for bride and groom plate decor.
With the help of the super talented team at Designs in Paper, our ceremony altar is a custom, cut-out geometric backdrop. Stunning against the evergreen tree line, the backdrop is a perfect compliment to the atomic-age-inspired paper goods. Geometric shapes continue through the event design, including a DIY star burst display for place cards and star burst baubles hanging from the dance floor.
Florals (including the bride’s bouquet) were loosely arranged fresh flowers with touches of copper-painted dried materials. Pops of evergreen foliage emphasis emerald hues and metallic ribbon is luxurious and festive. The wedding cake is totally covered with green Hydrangea florets, and topped with a 3D copper monogram from the invitation suite.
The fashion star of this mid-century modern day is our Irish bride in her gorgeous Hayley Paige “Kira” gown from The Dress Theory. The A·line, sweetheart lace bodice has a detachable lace cap sleeve bolero that forms a keyhole in front and back. The gown’s silk georgette flounced skirt, paired with copper shoes and belt, is a flirty ensemble perfect for twirling on the dance floor.
