From Dave Robbins PhotographyWhen Marissa and Jesse first met with event planner Amy Shey Jacobs of Chandelier Events, they said they wanted to find a destination in their beloved Hudson Valley (where they loved to take romantic daytrips) that fulfilled their vision of either rustic charm or modern Brooklyn art gallery–with amazing food, of course. In an instant, there was one venue the came to mind! Fusing all of their wishes and more, Roundhouse at Beacon Falls was a perfect match. A recently revitalized factory complex located on the Fishkill River in hip Hudson River town Beacon, New York, Roundhouse at Beacon offered a high-end modern hotel, Top Chef-worthy cuisine, a breathtaking ceremony location among the waterfalls–and a restored farmhouse-meets-industrial reception space with soaring 30-foot ceilings, exposed brick and massive picture windows overlooking the magnificent sites.

Marissa and Jesse, who had been dating since college days at George Washington University and through Marissa’s days in law school, knew it was the spot for them. They invited 200 guests from their hometowns of New York, Atlanta and Boston for a wedding weekend away over Memorial Day Weekend in Beacon. The nearlyweds and their guests took over the town for three-days of celebration and exploration!

While they offered fun and relaxation throughout the weekend, from a guided tour at the modern art museum, Dia: Beacon to an intimate rehearsal dinner followed by a raucous cocktail party at Sapore Steakhouse in nearby Fishkill; and a post-wedding Sunday brunch at SWIFT restaurant in the Inn at Roundhouse at Beacon Falls, it was the wedding ceremony and reception that took the cake!

The couple, with the guidance of Chandelier Events, enlisted Grayson Handy and Arturo Quintero of Prudence Designs in Manhattan to pull together a beautiful outdoor ceremony, river-side cocktail hour and breathtaking florals in the couple’s favorite color palette — rich purple, bold blues and bright pinks! Guests were greeted with hand-drawn chalkboards, a custom vintage Arnold Palmer bar and a whimsical iron-bike installation with chalkboard arrows pointing to their hometowns and on-site festivities, dreamed up Chandelier Events with Prudence and props from the Hatch Creative Studio Prop Shop! While the food played a key role in the evening for Marissa and Jesse, it was the music played that center-stage for the couple: Tunes, from Jesse’s Girl to Hanson’s MMMBop to Macklemore rocked by The Elements, who had the dance floor pumping ALL NIGHT LONG. Naturally, the bride and groom closed out the night out up on the stage!
