Holiday Hair: A Chic, Twisted Chignon

With the holidays about to head into full swing, having a great hairstyle in your back pocket is a must; especially one like this relaxed, unstuffy version of a chignon from Leah Anderson and A Splendid Occasion. Wear it with jeans or a cocktail dress and it works perfectly each and every time. You know what we say to that? Move over top knot, there's a new style in town. Grab all the steps captured by Jake Anderson below
step-1It is best to work with day old hair, as it allow for better control. Tease at the crown of the head using the center part to guide.

step-2Use a medium to large wand to add body and texture.
step-3Section from ear to ear, and forward to leave for later steps.

step-4Take back section and pull strait down with some tension.

step-5Begin forming a roll by rolling this section up, until you are at the nape of the neck.

step-6Secure with bobby pins along inner side.
step-7The front section: decide how much you want left loose and hanging near the face.

step-7Twist the hair towards the back roll, securing as you go
step-10Secure the end of the hair, hide the "tail" in the back roll. Secure.

step-11Repeat on opposite side.
