From Karissa at Coastside Couture... This gorgeous fun loving couple, Shelby and Josh are High School sweethearts. They loved the idea of having their wedding weekend with a ranch style feel to it (they even had a hoedown for their rehearsal dinner with a mechanical bull!).

The Prestigious Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel Valley ended up being the perfect place for their natural redwood ceremony and gorgeous elegant blush barn reception complete with drapes and chandeliers.

For the ceremony we wanted to only "enhance" the natural beauty of the remote redwood site by using locally grown flowers, moss, greens and succulents tucked into wood collected from the area. This lined the aisle giving the Bride a perfect walkway to her Groom.
Cocktail hour was in a meadow, guests sipped (going with the blush feeling) yummy Charles Heidsieck Rosé Réserve and played lawn games or lounged around under the big blue sky.

The historic 100 year old barn nestled amongst the golden hills, was the perfect backdrop for the dinner and reception. We wanted to keep the rustic feeling but really play up Shelby's very girly side. The Groom made wood runners with Shelby and Josh's initials branded throughout. We used that "brand" on the cake as well. Shelby and Josh went to every (and I mean every) high school dance together, so we took all of the pictures and made them into table names it was a really fun touch since some of the pictures brought you back to the backstreet boys and big bangs days ;-)

Each place setting had a bowtie napkin with lace wrapper. All the floral for this wedding was locally grown and we were in perfect season for large lush dahlias. We did a dramatic drape hanging in order to accentuate the length of the barn. The couple gave away bottles of their friend's wine OneHope choosing that the profits benefit Animal Adoption.

As for that insanely fantastic dress. The Bride got to meet Lazaro at one of his trunk shows and the two hit it off so much that he even customized the neckline of her dress, making it into a scoop as opposed to a sweetheart.

This was one of my most favorite weddings of all time because of the couple being so awesome but also because they really used me in the way they should. The trusted me to help create the perfect team of vendors and we all came together with a collaborative design that worked so well. The entire weekend was so much fun and full of beauty, love and really pretty people, places and things
