I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, fall weddings are magical. You can sense the crispness in the air, Mother Nature is bursting with my favorite colors, and everything starts to feel cozier. Carmen Santorelli captured every bit of that wonderful feeling with this beautiful bash in the Hudson Valley and with these pics – and this stunning Anna Maier gown – I’m left glassy-eyed and content.
From the Bride… When Al and I got engaged, it was our dream to have an autumn wedding. After a good deal of research, we stumbled upon Red Maple Vineyard located in the Hudson Valley; we felt like we uncovered a hidden gem. Al and I both immediately fell in love with the venue and knew it was absolutely perfect. The lush landscape and foliage are gorgeous, and the barn has a unique character of its own, every nook and cranny felt special, all lovingly restored. We knew that it would lend itself spectacularly to the rustic, yet elegant ambiance we were aiming for.
For the overall décor, we wanted to keep the palette autumnal, but in an interesting, almost unexpected way. We chose plums, mauve, antique rose, with a touch of orange and white. Our florist did a spectacular job of capturing this vision, and I found the perfect bridesmaid dress to tie the theme all together. And for the big day, it was incredibly important to us to create a beautiful and memorable moment, and to make all aspects of the wedding personal and thoughtful for our guests. Our dearest friends illustrated and designed our programs, and the whole family worked together to assemble the favor boxes, place cards, and other decorative flourishes we conjured up.
We were blessed to have the loveliest fall day of all. The staff at Red Maple Vineyard seamlessly orchestrated the event, and looked after all our guests so well. The food was also delicious, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about it. Our brilliant photographer captured the celebration so romantically, and our DJ got everyone up on their feet. The soiree came to a fantastic end with a cozy after party complete with a firepit and s’mores! We’ve always been told that your wedding day is the best of your lives – and that day more than exceeded our dreams.
