Intimate and overflowing with romance, this Park Place Planning fête beautifully captured by Erica Loeks Photography and Joe Pollock Films is what my wedding daydreams are made of. My adoration started with the Bride’s gorgeous L’Atelier Couture Bridal gown and then just seemed to grow with each and every Munster Rose bloom. From the beautiful Bride… Nick and I are both from the Midwest, so when it came time to pick a place to get married we knew we would be going back to our roots, despite living in Texas. I had visited Nicollet Island many times while in Minneapolis and had always had my eye on the pavilion for a potential wedding venue. It had all the elements we wanted to make our day special. The spacious room would accommodate our large guest list and the scenic view of the city and beautiful river was almost too good to be true. We wanted our wedding to be elegant with a vintage, romantic touch so we incorporated luscious flowers, candelabras and ceiling draping.
Since most of our guests were from out of town, it felt very much like a destination wedding. We started the weekend off with our family and wedding party attending a Twins game on Thursday. Then we filled everyone up with good food and cold drinks at our Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party on Friday evening and finished festivities with a traditional Sunday Brunch. It was so relaxing to be able to spend time with people over a long weekend. June in Minneapolis was a very rainy month, including the week leading up to our wedding day, but on that Saturday the weather was perfect, sunny and high 70s with no humidity! The day was so much fun!
We worked with outstanding vendors. Paperista helped us set the stage with an invitation design worth framing and we were so comfortable with our Videographer Joe Pollock and Photographer Erica Loeks. This is important since they’re in your shadows all day long! Our hair and make-up was done by Emily J and so many people commented on what a beautiful job they did. The gorgeous flowers were from Jackie at Munster Rose and they really completed the wedding we’d been dreaming up for over a year. My sister added the personal touches I wanted by creating potted flowers, signage outside the reception and handmade gold table numbers. Our band, The Seville’s, lived up to their reputation and had everyone on the dance floor twisting and shouting, myself included. I could go on and on because the day was truly one filled with details that made memories I’ll never forget.
