Romantic Elopement in Paris
What happens when two madly in love sweethearts throw caution to the wind and elope in the City of Lights? I'll tell you - magic. In the most romantic of settings, the gallery captured by Le Secret D'Audrey only confirms that it doesn't get any better than Paris. Because when you pair a ridiculously photogenic couple and a beautiful garden beautiful things are bound to happen and it's all right here.
From the beautiful Bride... We decided to forgo a planner and planned the wedding all on our own in a short period of time. Being in the wedding industry, we know some weddings can take a lot of stress, effort and time which we didn’t have but generally are people who like to keep things fuss-free. Planning from the other side of the world meant relying on the good ol’ internet and a few international calls and Skype timed just right. It also meant we wouldn’t see anything tangible until the day of the wedding. There were no cake tastings, only tasty descriptions from the baker, no hair or makeup trials (which was probably the only thing that made me a bit nervous), only Pinterest boards, and most importantly, we had no idea where to get married because we had no idea what existed within this possibly fictional place we’ve only seen in movies called Paris. But we did as much as we could by putting our efforts into the details such as the flowers, props, our getting ready apartment, and some items that I made including the wedding invitations and vow books. And we made sure to invest most in our photography and videography as we knew it would be the only thing we would have to look back on this once in a lifetime moment.
Although this could be a bit nerve racking, it was actually fun to see everything come together on the big day. We knew to keep our expectations low as anything could happen especially in a place we’d never been. And ultimately the most important thing was that we were in this amazing place together to get married. We had a simple celebration with close friends and family the week prior and after much packing we were off. After an eleven hour flight across the globe with our wedding dress and suit in our carry-on, we finally arrived for the first time ever in Europe! We spent some time wandering around a few places we had in mind during our time in Paris and knew when we found the spot and decided to risk being kicked out by security guards. And a couple days before our wedding day, we found our ceremony venue.
The wedding day predicted rain so we prepared for the worst by picking up an umbrella the day before. Although the weather seemed to be on our side that morning, when Jin ran out to pick up some breakfast he was unfortunately pick pocketed in the grocery store. It was really a bummer that we were a target especially on our wedding day but didn’t let it ruin our day. The getting ready portion of our day in our little Parisian apartment was full of energy and excitement and it was nice to be pampered by getting my hair and makeup done for the first time. We also loved getting ready together, Jin steaming my dress and me helping Jin put on his bow tie. Once the makeup artist was finished, Jin left the room as I put on my wedding dress. We saw each other for the first time in our wedding attire during our first look and it was such a priceless, special moment we will never forget. We had our cake cutting, toast, and gift exchange before heading out to make it official!
The ceremony was one of the most emotional moments of the day as we both couldn’t hold back tears as we tightly held hands and recited our vows to one another. Jin had written the most beautiful vows and I couldn’t help but cry like a baby. Here we were standing in this beautiful garden in Paris about to become husband and wife and that’s when it sunk in. We really made it happen. Our dream wedding became a reality.
We spent the rest of our day around Paris taking our wedding photos as husband and wife. And as soon as the ceremony was over the rain started to come down during our photos but it only added to our wedding story. How could you be anything but happy in this place having just married the love of your life. After our special dinner, we ended the evening with a first dance as husband and wife in our apartment to a very emotional song. Clinging to one another tightly, we had never cried so many tears of joy together.
