Boho Chic Rancho Las Lomas Wedding
Rancho Las Lomas is where all my wedding dreams come true and this al fresco soiree from White Orchid Productions proves it. Sweet boho-chic Cali vibes are woven throughout, from the intricate and colorful tiling to the Bride's Nicole Miller dress to the wildly beautiful bouquet. I'll be drooling over the snaps from JL Photographers like it's nobodies business if anyone is looking for me—join me here!
From the beautiful Bride...I was looking forward to going to Napa for our first time and had been for months. I couldn't wait to be on vacation. I noticed Matt seemed a little uneasy on our drive up that morning but I thought he just didn't feel well. When we got to Duckhorn Winery they said they were running late so Matt suggested we go walk around the property. Then as we turned the corner he put his arm around me, gave me a little squeeze and with a big grin on his face said "well bubbs (his nickname for me)"...then dropped to one knee, and said "will you marry me." Shocked, but in the best way possible, I think i started crying as I backed away. The rest is still kind of a blur but I found my way into his arms and he picked me up and gave me the best hug and kiss to date. The rest of the weekend was one big celebration, he even arranged for my mom to come surprise me and join all of us! It was the most amazing trip thanks to Matt and the loving family I get to now be a part of!
Matt and I knew from the start that we wanted a wedding outside with a spanishy feel. Rancho Las Lomas was the first spot we checked out and absolutely fell in love! We ended up looking at a few others but nothing compared in our eyes... and nowhere also came with zebras and tigers. After that, certain pieces just fell into place. We were lucky enough to have friends in the photography, floral and dj world that just so happen to also be extremely talented at what they do and really made what we wanted in our wedding come to life!
Not even 24 hours after we said our I do's we were off to two weeks in Thailand & Bali... we were beyond happy with our choices, Matts was Thailand and mine was Bali. We spent the next two weeks riding scooters, hanging with monkeys, riding on elephants and lounging on beaches!
From The Groom...We first met at the end of the summer of 2009. Myself and my roommates had some people over for a dance party and Alana happened to come with her friends. Somehow our dance party turned into more of a dance off between Alana and I ending in a handstand contest. Don't ask who won, we will each say that we did.
Our first date was probably about a month later. I thought I was so sly not telling her where we were going to dinner. Thought I had the greatest hidden gem to take her to. Turns out she used to work there in college and when we walked in the majority of the people knew her. What are the chances.
From The Bride...But he won back major brownie points after dinner... since during dinner I had mentioned I liked his keychain, it was a bagel with a smiley face, and I thought it was funny. He grabbed my hand and led me across the way into Urban Outfitters straight to this display of little boxes and said "pick one." So I chose one and he took it to the register, paid for it, walked out and said open it. It was a keychain of a doughnut with a smiley face. And he said "now you have one too." My heart melted.
