We’re about to embark on a day-long indulgence of Jose Villa, and it all starts with a welcome dinner that’s guaranteed to Rock. Your. World. Dressed in nautical design by Renny and Reed and planned by Jenna Lam Events, it’s a mash-up of modern fabrics, bold colors, ocean views, and the perfect affair to kick a wedding celebration off right. Rehearsal dinner festivities coming up next!
From Jenna Lam Events… Joanne and Alex kicked off their wedding weekend with a nautical welcome party at the Coral Casino at the Four Seasons Biltmore. Renny & Reed transformed the patio into a chic lounge space complete with cabanas and deck chairs. We wanted to do nautical in an unexpected way, so we chose classics like navy and white stripes, but gave them an update with modern brass and rope accents. The cocktail bar was adorned with brass porthole mirrors and coral peonies suspended in rope & glass vessels.
We carried the nautical theme to the food, with a giant raw bar featuring all of the couple’s favorite seafood. Since this event also fell on Alex’s birthday, we featured his favorite cocktail, a Basil Hayden Old Fashioned and also surprised him with a doowop group to sing Happy Birthday. Instead of a traditional birthday cake (Alex prefers pie), we presented him with a giant pie cake (turns out, it’s impossible to make a real pie that’s over 2′ in diameter!) so the master bakers at Perfect Endings whipped up a red velvet cake that was a dead ringer for apple pie. Late night, we wheeled around a brass bar cart with all of Alex’s favorite scotches.
