From Julie Pepin Photography… This wedding was one of my most favorite wedding’s that I’ve been lucky enough to cover. It was a very small, very intimate and emotional day starting at day break on the Brooklyn Bridge and ending with a late morning wedding in the NYC Court House.
Erica and Braden chose New York City because they spent most of their time together in New York and had a lot of memories there. Erica was moving away after having lived in Brooklyn for 4 years so this wedding was their last New York hoorah. They wanted a small “elopement style” wedding with just their families so they chose to get married in City Hall.
One of my favorite details was Erica’s engagement ring. She wanted a raw, uncut diamond for her engagement ring, which was not an easy thing to find. The ring was specially made by Laura Treloar of Specimental Design. Because the couple had such a short engagement, they decided to keep it pretty simple by just going to David’s Bridal for Erica’s dress and Braden’s suit was from Men’s Wearhouse. The leather jacket Erica wore she found thrifting with her friends at Tokio 7 consignment in the East Village. The day before the wedding, they went to the New York City Flower Market and selected all of the flowers they thought they would need, and used them to make Erica’s bouquet and head piece.
One of the most special parts of the day, was that we started at sunrise on the Brooklyn Bridge and because of that, we felt like we had the whole city to ourselves. It was incredible to be in New York City and feel like Erica and Braden were the only two people on the planet : )
