Whimsical Summer Wedding at the Golden Gate Club

No matter where in the city the celebration takes place, a San Fran wedding always proves to be amazing, and this one at the Golden Gate Club is a perfect example. With bright blooms and endless smiles, this is the sort of wedding that puts everyone in a great mood. Jasmine Lee was there from start to finish and her photos make me wish I was a guest at this special soiree. See it all right here!

From The Bride… We knew we wanted to get married in San Francisco, and after researching venues, fell in love with the Golden Gate Club, a former officer’s club in the Presidio. The main ballroom had vaulted ceilings and gorgeous views of the Golden Gate Bridge, all surrounded by eucalyptus trees. We were lucky to have a stunning sunset right as guests sat down to dinner.

We wanted things to be fun and elegant, filled with flowers, greenery and pops of color. My dress was everything I wanted, a flowing romantic skirt, with beautiful beading and a little bit of sparkle — and it was incredibly comfortable. The bridesmaids selected their own dresses in a range of peach and coral colors. The groomsmen went classic in black suits with bowties and pocket squares.

The weeks leading up to the wedding were incredibly busy, but the day of, we were both relaxed and able to savor every moment. It was wonderful seeing all of our friends and family together in one place.

We wanted our ceremony to reflect who we were and our evolving relationship since high school. We asked the groom’s father to officiate, and after talking with us he put together a touching story of our relationship with details that even close friends and family didn’t know.

I really enjoyed designing our invites, programs, menus and signs. I usually design software, so it was enormously fun to draw and print physical items. One of our groomsmen made gorgeous marquee letter lights with our initials T & M, which blew everyone away. I made our ceremony backdrop from wax paper and string with the help of many bridesmaids. My sister drew images for our table names (each is a location special to us) and my cousin sculpted our cake topper. Another close friend set up a photo booth for cocktail hour, and one of the bridesmaids made the props.

Our vendors were all incredible. Our photographer, Jasmine, and florist, Younghee delivered even more than we were hoping for! I don’t know what we would have done without Vera, our wedding coordinator. Our caterer made a custom menu inspired by our favorite foods, from chicken and waffles to fluffy buns with short ribs. Our DJ was incredible and kept everyone on the dance floor into the evening.
