With delicate BLUSH Floral Design blooms adorning the Bride’s locks, this salty air, sun kissed seaside soiree will transport you to a summer day. Meaningful mementos like a hand-built ceremony arch, an innovative guestbook, and a sailcloth Sperry Tent make this intimate outdoor ceremony perfectly personal. Wildflower Studio was on the scene and shared their pics from the day here.
From the beautiful Bride… My groom grew up in a coastal town near the waters of Lake Michigan. He’s never been away from water, it’s an important part of his soul. I, on the other hand, grew up in a beautiful, northern Connecticut town, rich with trees and shade splashed roads. Recently my parents relocated near the Connecticut shoreline and I’ve finally discovered, after several visits to their home, what it’s like to live by water. My parents’ home is idyllic and picturesque, with a backyard looking out to a cove that leads to the sea, and Jeremy and I knew this would be the perfect location for our wedding. We also knew that a home would set the tone for a laid-back, relaxed wedding which is exactly what we were going for.
Photography is an ever-learning, side hobby for us both, and finding the right photographer to organically capture our big day was a priority. We heard of Shell Dransart of Wildflower Studio Photography, a Californian at her roots, but a Rhode Islander at present, and immediately booked her. One of my favorite moments during our big day was going out on the boat, as husband and wife, being silly and romantic, while Shell snapped away.
We decided to plan our intimate 35 guest ceremony outdoors. We rented a tent made of sailcloth, provided by Sperry Tent, to cover the outdoor patio space for dining and dancing. My brother Blake built a ceremony arch for us and everyone couldn’t stop talking about how breathtakingly beautiful it turned out to be! Our dear friend Julie, who is an incredibly talented artist, created a large print for all of our guests to sign. We now have our meaningful print framed and hung in our home and I smile every time I walk by it.
Gourmet Galley Catering became the heartbeat of our entire wedding day. We worked closely with Jessie English, who brought our initial visions to a truly dream-like reality. Jessie made sure every small detail was never overlooked; from creating a rustic, seaside decor, to blowing everyone away with their eclectic, mouth-watering, vegetarian menu. We are beyond grateful to the Gourmet Galley crew for making our wedding day everything we had hoped for.
We are also deeply thankful to NY Ceremony Music for filling the sweet, late summer air with their sounds during our ceremony. I knew I wanted to walk down the aisle, and to look at Jeremy’s face for the first time that day, to “Hoppípolla” by Sigur Rós. NY Ceremony Music learned this song for us and brilliantly performed it on our special day. Our beautiful friend, Tandrea, who has a singing voice that can bring you to tears, sang “At Last” as Jeremy and I took to the dance floor for our first dance as husband and wife.
By the end of the evening, our beaming faces ached from such an overflow of happiness. We felt the soft sun fade away, the sea salt air settle on our faces, as my hand rested in the hand of my best friend, and the honor I felt to call this man my husband.
