Wine cave? Yes please! This wedding led guests into a cave full of vino for an epic dance party, but not before they were immersed in a whole lotta pretty. With Fleurs De France and East Six setting the scene, guests were treated to quite a sight before they partied the night away. Suzy Berberian planned it all from top to bottom, and Laurie Bailey and New Classic Films captured every moment of this amazing celebration. I could ramble on and on but you can see it all for yourself right here!

From Suzy Berberian Weddings & Events… It’s not often that a planner finds a couple so wonderful that they’ll change their entire calendar around to accommodate them, but that’s what happened when I met Joanna and Adam! From the start they wanted a fun, elegant and gorgeous wedding, and every detail over the next year was developed with those plans in mind.
The wedding design started off in romantic and clean whites and pale green, with Joanna’s bouquet formed with white peonies, roses and sweet peas. Dinner on the stunning Lommel Lawn showcased the meal with beautiful pewter patterned linen, silver-rim glass chargers, and more white flowers. Lavender was placed on each napkin with the place card to bring a touch of color to the settings, and anchor the card in the mild evening breezes.
After dinner guests were welcomed into the Wine Cave for a completely different experience! The cave walls were saturated in red lighting, and white leather furniture with mirrored accent tables offered a spot for guests to lounge when they weren’t out on the dance floor. Linens and pillows in burgundy and pewter completed the look for the cocktail tables and the stunning cake display. The perfect Napa Valley wedding for a fun couple with impeccable taste!
From The Bride… I met my husband in college, but we fell in love when he was living in San Francisco and I was in New York. When it came time to plan our wedding, our first thought was Napa. We had spent a few romantic weekends there while we were dating, and knew it would be an easy draw for our friends and family, who are mostly from the east coast. We made a trip to Napa to start planning, and fell in love with our venue, Calistoga Ranch, and our planner, Suzy Berberian.
Once we saw Calistoga Ranch there was nowhere else we could get married – it was so beautiful and the perfect size for the intimate wedding we wanted. With such a stunning setting to work with, we decided to emphasize the beauty and contrast between the outdoor and indoor spaces. The dinner was held on the lawn, overlooking the valley on one side and a lake and mountains on the other. As the sun set, the light played beautifully off of the silver linens and white flowers, accented with flickering candles. The long queen’s tables ensured everyone had a spectacular view and we loved the twist on the traditional that the layout and the family style dinner created.
After dinner, our guests drifted back to the Wine Cave, which was lit a vibrant red; the décor, the music and flowing cocktails ensured the night turned into the wild party we hope for – I even crowd-surfed in my gown! We loved the contrast between the first half of the night and the second, and that the venue allowed us to have, in turn, elegance and a bacchanal.
The day had so many highlights for me, but walking with my father to the ceremony is at the top of the list. It was incredible to see the faces of our friends and family, the incredible site high above Napa Valley, all of the little details we spent so much time planning and of course my husband, standing under the chuppah. It was an unforgettable moment, and the highlight of my life so far, to be surrounded by our loved ones and marrying the love of my life, all in the most beautiful place I had ever been.
The planning process was complicated by the fact that we live in New York, but made so easy by our planner Suzy Berberian. We made only two trips to California, and did everything else from across the continent. Suzy made it all so seamless and so much fun – she knew every vendor in the area and did an incredible job of taking my vague guidance and shaping it into our perfect day.
Our photographer, Laurie Bailey, was also an easy choice as I had been following her work for years after seeing photos had taken for friends. After our engagement shoot in Santa Barbara we knew that we not only loved her, but also that she would make us look amazing and capture the candid moments we love so much. We are so happy with the outcome and she was beyond wonderful on our wedding day.
