Angela here from Saffron Avenue bringing you my next blogger bride adventure! Some girls are crazy excited to try on dresses for the first time, and I thought I always would be…until the time actually came. I’m not big into shopping, trying on clothes, and definitely not in front of family and friends while literally on a pedestal. The idea actually stressed me out because I had no clue what to expect. But I’m passing on what I learned, and tips to make this important shopping excursion one to remember.
A few things I was told by my friends and family was to try on all different styles, and that dresses always look better on you than the hanger. Also, to keep an open mind the whole time. And while that info was great, it wasn’t quite enough. The first time I tried on dresses didn’t turn out the best. I didn’t eat much before, I was so tired and exhausted, and the bridal salon didn’t have any music and weren’t enthusiastic. It just wasn’t the experience I’d imagined.
I decided the next place I would choose to go to would be 10x better and that’s when I ended up at Hayden Olivia Bridal in Charlotte, NC. It was one of the best decisions I had made because it was such a great experience, and one I’ll never forget. I spent the day with my sister and very close friend trying on so many beautiful dresses in an absolutely beautiful loft style boutique. We had music, dresses lined up, mimosa, and best of all we laughed…a lot. To top it off I had a great photographer, Lauren Rosenau snapping pictures of the process to share with you!
I definitely had an open mind too, I tried on big ball gowns by Hayley Paige, an amazing trumpet dress by Monique Lhuillier, a dress with crazy feathers, and another with a sparkly plunging neckline. And just in case you wanted to know…none of these shown are the dress I chose. (That’s top secret! ) But I do want to share a handy list of tips Hayden Olivia Bridal and I pulled together to make wedding dresses shopping a little bit smoother!
Until next time! xoxo, Angela
