From The Bride… Jordan’s parents bought the beautiful property in Creemore in 2011, and the moment I saw the property I knew one day I wanted to get married there. Luckily Jordan and his parents loved the idea too.

Even though we were getting married on a farm, we did not want the feel overly rustic. Everything came together so well. The hand made tables from Mode Decor, the ghost chairs, the DIY projects, and the small details made our event spectacular. The flowers from Mode Decor were absolutely perfect too!

All the details and hard labour really made our wedding very personal. I, along with the wedding party handmade the chalkboards, and one of my wonderful bridesmaids did all the lettering. Jordan, our parents and the groomsmen built the the two bars. To make the bars we used barn board from a woodshed we tore down on the property in preparation for the wedding. My mom made the table runners, and Jordan’s mom baked countless batches of cookies for the late night snack and favours. Many of the tables, for example the ceremony signing table, and accent props were found in the barn. It was great to be able to reuse so many authentic pieces.

As many brides do, I struggled deciding between two dresses. Looking back now, the decision seems like it should have been so easy. I absolutely loved my Jim Hjelm dress, it really fit the overall theme. The dress is ivory lace, with a champagne underlay which displays the lace so beautifully. The bridesmaids wore an ombre of grey dresses in completely different styles. We were really happy with how all the dressed came together as well. Jordan and all the guys looked absolutely great in their black suits too!

The looming storm during our outdoor ceremony was initially quite worrisome, but the gentle rumble of thunder and the appearance of the sun made the moment quite magical. Our ceremony was also extra special because Jordan’s Nan was our officiant and we each wrote our own vows.

Jordan and I both love food and wine, so these things were very important to us at the wedding. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to have Food Dudes cater our wedding. So many of our guests have told us that the food was the best wedding food, or best beef tenderloin they have ever had. To chose our wine for the wedding Jordan and I did a lot of research and tastings, and then hosted a wine tasting night to narrow the selections down to the final four which we served.

To end our amazing day, we had a band, The Reklaws play for the dance portion. The dance floor was always packed. Our guests, and Jordan and I did not want the band to stop.

Overall, our day was perfect for us! Jordan and I could have not asked for a better way to start our marriage.
