Great Gatsby Inspiration Shoot

Here’s how we celebrate the very last day of 2014.  We put on our finest SMP wear, grab that last egg nog latte and dive into an inspiration shoot that is so posh and sparkly that only Jay Gatsby himself could have thrown a party equally as awesome.  It’s 1920’s glam done oh-so-right from a talented team that includes Kaitlin ParishoMartina Liana and Anna Smith.  Party on right here.

And a little something special from Green Light Media Services

From Anna Smith Photography… Lavish ornamentation, vivid colors, geometric shapes, glamour and luxury. These are just a few words that describe a time in fashion history that was an inspiration for this Great Gatsby 1920’s theme inspirational shoot. Styled by Chic Fleur Weddings and Events and photographed by myself, Anna Smith Photography, my vision came to reality showing off the works of many talented vendors in Dallas. With perfect touches of antiques from Gold Dust Vintage Rentals, vintage clothing, treasured family heirloom props and a couple very much in love we were able to create this drop dead gorgeous navy & gold stunner.

The Aldredge House set the backdrop for these gorgeous photos. Beginning as a gift to a bride in the early 1900’s, the history of Aldredge House has been that of a true love story. It now sits as a prominent mansion in the Swiss Avenue Historical District in Dallas and shines with Gatsby’s Style sophistication. From antique furnishings to exquisite walnut paneling
to an exterior wraparound terrace ideal for cocktails
to impeccably maintained gardens it was an absolute perfection for our night of inspiration.

The floral design by Ginger Root Florals completed the flawless and genuine design. I wanted our high-end day decorated with opulent and gorgeous white flowers with a touch of blue and lots of texture. By using white anemone and blue jackpot thistle we were able to add pops of color without overwhelming the scene. White standard roses, white spray roses, cafe au lait dahlias, ranunculus, dusty miller & hydrangeas were used to design the bouquet and gold vase centerpieces.

The place settings and vintage gold rimmed glassware were something out of this world. Sun-shaped and unique charger plates – these stood out to us in their lavish design and elegance. Bar cart was a must & was decorated with glassware and liquor bottles from 1920’s and bubby champagne.

Stationery created by Kaitlin Parisho was wonder to my eyes. I have never seen anything as unique & elegant, purely beautiful. The art deco style table numbers paired with blue and silver fun fonts with gold art deco designs brought a touch of sophistication and glam of the 1920s. She even ordered vintage stamps!

Our models were an actual married couple, so it was easy to feel their love and affection during the shoot. The attire was classy, clean and sophisticated generously provided to us by Culwell & Son and Patsy’s Bridal. Culwell & Son helped us choose a tuxedo from the era for our handsome groom. Patsy’s provided us with the most beautiful chiffon beaded wedding gown by Martina Liana from their vintage glam collection. Dallas Hair and Make up created a dramatic look for the bride with sparkly eyes and bright red lips. We went for bold and beautiful and absolutely achieved the look.

The jewelry provided by Patsy’s Bridal and Nordstrom Bridal were elaborate and magnificent. Intricately cut & radiant pieces carefully handcrafted for the bride’s headband, emerald and art deco shaped drop earrings and delicately cut stones with tiny crystal pattern for the hand tied bracelet were all inspired by the jewelry and headpieces popular to the 1920’s era.

The cake created by the amazing Sweet Thangs by Lo Michelle was set with intricate Gold Art Deco Designs. The Vintage Car was provided to us by Blue Diamond Limousines Of Texas. Green Light Media Services filmed the event and made a beautiful video for the shoot. All together this was a showcase of many talented Dallas Vendors and we can not wait to share our inspiration with the world. We will be very honored for SMP to feature our work.
