Intimate Summer Wedding at Sand Rock Farm

I love when I stumble upon something that I've never seen at another wedding before, and the imagery of hands, used throughout this celebration, is a perfect example. Representing the couple's support and love for one another, they were a beautiful symbol used throughout the day. Add in the gorgeous florals by Flower and Forage, photos by Scot Woodman and I'll be going through this gallery over and over again.

From Scot Woodman Photography... David and Lauren are both really artistic as individuals and together they knew they wanted their wedding to be something special. They had no strict guidelines, just a desire to be married in a space within proximity of Berkeley but also far enough away that they could build a weekend vacation into it for their families. They decided on Sand Rock Farm B&B in Aptos, CA because of it's location, the lush gardens, beautiful rooms, and many hidden spots. They decided to make as much of the decor for the wedding as possible in order to have an intimate wedding full of personal touches. Lauren learned to throw pottery and it gave her the perfect opportunity to add in some funkier touches. They included hands on many of the decor items to reflect supporting one another as they strive towards being stronger, happier, and more loving people in the world, both as a couple and as individuals as well as their decision to have a handfasting ceremony as part of the wedding ceremony.

David performed a song he wrote for Lauren at the reception. They also asked many of their friends and family to assist with the various crafts projects they did for the wedding, from the table decorations, to the amazing floral arrangements, it was a day of beauty, love, and lots of laughter!

The DYI projects made by bride included invitations, ceramic pots, corn hole boards, wedding itinerary fans, cake plates, and Shibori tablecloths and Shibori chalkboards.
