I’m pretty sure I dream of France daily; the food, the wine, fashion and macaroons. And this wedding, at a private French chateau, is all of those dreams in one beyond beautiful place. Orchestrated by Fete in France and documented by Ian Holmes, this blush and gold celebration has me absolutely breathless. I refuse to accept post-holiday reality just yet so this gallery is where I’ll (gladly) remain.
From Fête In France… All-American Linsay and Brazilian Leo met and fell in love in the US but are currently based in Rio De Janeiro . The couple along with Leo’s family and friends came from Brazil to have their September wedding in France while Linsay’s family traveled from the US.
The couple privatized a beautiful chateau in the lush green Normandy countryside for their wedding weekend where they could also sleep all of their guests on site. The festivities began on Friday night with a BBQ and cocktails by the pool. On Saturday following hair and make-up Linsay and Leo met for an intimate first look with photographer Ian Holmes.
The ceremony seating was a mix of chairs and loveseats borrowed from the chateau along with custom made pillows designed by the bride herself for a fun touch. The sculpted hedges in the garden created a natural archway and were draped with fabric and flowers to create a gorgeous backdrop for the wedding ceremony. A jazz trio played for the ceremony and the couple celebrated at the end of the ceremony by exiting to a jazz version of ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams.
In lieu of traditional place cards, a Polaroid camera was passed around to take funny pictures of each guest with props during the cocktail hour. In the dining room each guest had a Ladurée macaron in the pastel colors of the wedding at their seat. The pictures were then placed in the macaron at the dinner table for guest to find their picture at their seat. The romantic floral decor in the blush, peach, ivory and gold tones made for an elegant reception table.
The couple opted for the classic french Croquembouche as their wedding cake which was presented with the traditional sparklers. The couple and guests then danced late into the night.
