Intimate Winter Wedding at City Hall
I love this duo. I love that they planned an intimate city hall wedding, with just five of their nearest and dearest on hand to celebrate. I love that they rushed out into the snow post-nuptials and then headed to a sweet reception at home. But most of all I love just how very, very happy they seem to be. It's a love that brings a smile to your face and you can see it all captured by Tina Jay Photography right here.
From Tina Jay Photography... I had the most delightful time celebrating with Catherine and Luke during their city hall wedding. They contacted me about two weeks before their wedding, and I was so glad I was available! No one besides their immediate family knew they were getting married, so it was such an exciting time! They were married the day before Thanksgiving in 2014. Their wedding was the definition of a winter wonderland - we got the first snow of the season on their wedding day, and everything looked so breathtakingly magical outside. A beautiful blanket of snow covered the area, with the largest, fluffiest snowflakes falling as this sweet couple was wed.
There were only seven people total present (including the bride and groom!), so it was such an intimate, emotional affair. Catherine and Luke had their First Look in her parents' home, and it was such a beautiful moment. Catherine's dad played hymns on the guitar during this time, and the most beautiful music flooded the house as they saw each other on their wedding day for the first time. We headed outside into the snow for some portraits, and the photos are some of my favorite that I've captured to date!
We headed to the city hall for their wedding, where family members were skyped in to be "present." It was a beautiful ceremony, after which we all headed back to Catherine's parents' house for some food, cake and champagne. Presents were opened, and dancing in the kitchen commenced! Later, Catherine and Luke exited her parent's house as husband and wife, to a sparkler exit in the snow. It was one of the most beautiful experiences I've been a part of, I was so happy to be there!
Details I loved: Her dress, found at White House Black Market, and her white wool coat, found at Loft. I also loved the red jewelry box she used to hold her rings, it was her grandma's jewelry box. They decorated her parent's dining room in the most delightful way, I loved the set up!
