I am smitten with this Bride, not only for her BHLDN gown and Seed Floral crown, but because of her laid-back demeanor. Barefoot and in love, she wed her groom on the dreamy grounds of Saddlerock Ranch, while the talented Heidi Ryder captured every lovestruck moment. Ending the evening with SusieCakes and a vintage getaway car, this gallery is one that cannot be missed.
From Heidi Ryder….Megan and Brian’s wedding was nothing short of spectacular, but that’s just what happens when a Southern belle and a film director come together to celebrate their union and throw a big, fun party!
Megan grew up in Alabama and wanted to pay homage to her laid back southern roots. She spent the entire day barefoot because it reminded her of running barefoot outside during the warm Alabama summers. Her flower crown and simple but gorgeous BHLDN dress completed her boho look.
The decor pulled in elements of Southern charm and Hollywood elegance with rustic, dark woods, succulents, eucalyptus and olive leaves, lavender and gorgeous peonies, garden roses and anemones. Guests took home precious jars of honey and enjoyed dinner and dancing under a giant oak tree adorned in strands of twinkle lights. It was a magical evening that was as classy as it was uproarious. The live band had everyone on their feet all night long and the bride surprised the groom with a Carvel ice cream cart, a nod to his favorite childhood summer treat that he enjoyed on the Jersey shore. Their first dance started off sweet and slow and then, as a surprise to everyone in attendance, they busted out a choreographed dance (complete with the cabbage patch and running man) to Barry White’s ” You’re My First, My Last, My Everything.” It was the perfect thing to get the party started, and if there’s one thing this group knew how to do, it was party!
The ceremony was beautiful and started with an epic moment where their entire bridal party walked together to the ceremony as one big group so as to hide the bride until it was time for her to appear. Seeing that many people walk together towards the aisle was something I’ve never seen before and it had a very, all-for-one, one-for-all feeling to it. Very awesome!
Megan and Brian had a vintage car waiting for them at the end of the night, and guests tossed lavender at them for their big send off. All in all, it was a magical and beautiful evening.
