From the Bride… We planned our wedding in eight weeks. Just enough time for our closest friends and family to make the trip but not long enough to overthink and stress the day. We are both extremely laid back and had put off getting married for a few years to avoid all the fuss that surrounds weddings.

We love the timelessness of the Beverly Hills Hotel and often go for breakfast there. One day while we were there, we inquired about the possibility of holding our wedding on the property. After a ten minute walk through of the Rodeo Room and the Polo Garden we decided that this was the place we wanted to have our wedding.

We loved the storied history of this place and knew our family and friends coming in for the wedding would enjoy the experience. My eighty-four year old grandmother loves John Wayne and Elizabeth Taylor and wanted to see all the rooms they had stayed in. My bridal suite was next to Howard Hughes bungalow in the years that he lived at the hotel. It’s the ultimate California fixture having even been used as the imagery for the Eagles landmark album Hotel California.

The ceremony held in the Polo Garden was covered in rose petals and buckets of baby’s breath lined the aisles while the string quartet played Fleetwood Macs ‘Songbird ‘and guests sipped champagne. We loved the outdoor ceremony and the perfect October weather. We both have southern backgrounds so being in a garden with a slightly rustic feel felt familiar and fitting.

After the ceremony guests headed to the Rodeo Room for cocktails followed by a four course dinner and dancing. The tables were set with natural white and green floral arrangements accented by floating candles.

The key word when designing our wedding was “simple.” Our first dance was to U2’s “All I Want Is You” and guests spent the rest of the night dancing to both a live band and DJ Jesse Marco. The flow of the day was perfect and our only regret is how quickly it went by.
