Playful Elegance in Palm Springs

From the adorable 'Tuesday night' proposal story to their playful, yet elegant Palm Springs soiree, this gorgeous Bride (who also happens to be a writer for Grey's Anatomy!) and her handsome Groom have turned me to mush with their utter cuteness. With the dedicated guidance and genius vision of Artisan, there's not a moment captured by onelove photography that won't make you smile. And the film from Zomei? It's a must-watch.

From the beautiful Bride...Mike planned a truly epic proposal. One morning, I was on the phone with my childhood best friend and when the topic of getting engaged came up, I casually said: "I don't want him to propose on a holiday or my birthday or our anniversary. I just want to be surprised on a random Tuesday night." By the end of that day I came down with a small cold, and begged Mike to cancel the "fancy dinner" I'd forgotten he planned. I didn't want to put on a dress, I wanted to go to bed. Luckily, he convinced me to put on the dress. One blindfolded car-ride and a mysterious, secretive elevator ride later, I found myself in the lobby of the Soho House. Knowing we weren't members, it became clear to be something was up. Mike led me into a screening room where - surprise! - he revealed dozens of my friends and coworkers -- he'd gathered everyone together for a surprise screening of the first episode of Grey's Anatomy (also the first episode of television) I'd ever written, two days before it was even set to air. I was thrilled and overcome with the warm and fuzzies. We all watched together with popcorn and snacks and people laughed at the jokes and cried at the sad parts and I was overwhelmed with gratitude as the episode ended. Then Mike took the stage. And before I knew it, he was inviting me up on stage with him. And the night I thought could not get any more surprising or sweepingly romantic turned into the night Mike proposed; it was a random Tuesday night. And it was perfect.

Our wedding planning was truly a romantic and fun experience, and Artisan was a giant part of that. From our first meeting with Joey to the last second of the wedding, working with Artisan was easy, comfortable and inspiring. He allowed us to add whatever measure of personalization we wanted while bringing his own specific visions to the overall feel of the event; everything felt fresh and tailored to us. On the day, everything ran seamlessly (or at least it appeared to from our perspective) and looked even more beautiful than I anticipated. But what was most impressive to me was the role Joey filled at the rehearsal and on the day that I hadn't even anticipated I'd need. He was calm, warm, excited and visibly invested in our wedding. We had a huge bridal party (12 on each side) and he organized the whole ceremony with the expertise and creativity of a seasoned Broadway producer. Our friends are at the age where we're all in weddings a few times a year, and multiple bridesmaids and groomsmen went out of their way to mention how professional and creatively spectacular Joey was. Mike and I enjoyed what we still consider to be our perfect wedding.
