From Nancy Ray Photography…The inspiration for this shoot came from the restlessness we felt at the end of winter, when the sunlight is streaming in through tall windows and hinting at the beauty outside. We loved the playfulness of blackberries and mint – both the berries and herbs themselves, as well as their color palette that is soft and rich at the same time. In starting to plan for this shoot, I really wanted a beautiful indoor space with clean white walls and elegant architectural details. A space where candlelight could glow, florals could be organic and striking and this simple concept could be conveyed with sophistication and beauty, and captured on film. Nancy suggested the historic Merrimon-Wynne House in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina and we were both immediately smitten with the idea. We imagined an intimate dinner reception, cigars and brandy to follow and just a tiny bit of frolicking on the large wrap-around porch. Jared (my little brother!) and Jordy are engaged to be married later this year and their playful chemistry is evident to all who interact with them, which made shooting these two together a true joy.
