From the Bride, Rasha Pensanti Shakeri… When my husband and I began brainstorming a wedding vision, we thoroughly underestimated the number of detailed decisions we would have to make and how much of our hearts we would put into each decision. The year itself actually brought us closer together. For every vendor we hired we had interviewed five, and although it kept us very busy, it was truly fun to co-create together.

From the moment we stepped onto the property of Rancho Del Cielo, we fell in love. I wanted an outdoor wedding that had a rustic romantic feel, and he wanted a beautiful view of the ocean. For us, it was the perfect fit. There is something very special about this property, and it’s mainly due to the lovely owners Jill and Sparky who live there. In the end, it was amazing to see how their property transformed and came alive with our vision on our wedding day.

We wanted to create a warm atmosphere that was a combination of enchanting, bright, airy and most of all, fun. We both wanted to have a mainly white backdrop but orange is my favorite color and so we incorporated it into almost everything we did. Orange was in our flowers, linens, stationary, parasols, ties, socks, shoes. I was definitely in my happy orange place…

My husband’s family is Persian and his mother created a beautiful cultural table full of handpicked symbolic items intended to bring us health and happiness in our marriage. It was wonderful to share this with our guests and to see our friends and family come together and celebrate together. The celebration turned out better than we expected and my wish came true…that it would turn into a big dance party! I’m so happy to be able to say that, because I will admit that it was no cake walk. In the final weeks, my husband and I found ourselves in a little in over our heads with late nights filled with you name it: painting signs, ¬fine tuning the ceremony, last minute trips to buy decorations, writing vows, creating playlists. We barley slept the night before the wedding and our minds were filled with a whirlwind of last minute preparations.

Thankfully, on our wedding day our vendors took over and we were very lucky to have the team of vendors that we worked with. Our photographers, Erin and Courtney de Jauregui (Erin Hearts Court), are extremely talented and amazing to work with. We couldn’t be happier with their work and the photos speak for themselves. Our videographer Alan Larsen created a captivating wedding film beyond our expectations. I don’t know where to begin about our florist, Myra, with Celebrate flowers, she’s incredible. Donna and her team at Monrose Catering made delicious food and really took care of our guests. Lynn at I do Concepts crafted our ideal collection of custom invitations, programs, place cards and menus. Finally, we could not have done it without the support of our wedding coordinator Trisha Dahlgren and her remarkable team at Dahlgren Events.

We were blessed with such a special day. The weather was perfect and we shared a magical day with our loving and super fun, family and closest friends. We couldn’t ask for anything more.
