Modern-Meets-Vintage Garden Inspiration

Set in one lush Cali garden, these pretty photos might seem like your typical inspiration shoot. But take a closer look and you’ll see they’re anything but that. Layered with rich shades of berry, brilliantly textured florals by The Bloom Of Time and beautiful photography by Katie Pritchard, it’s eye candy goodness like you’ve never seen. Oh, and lucky enough we’re only just getting started.

From Katie Pritchard… For this wedding inspiration shoot, we were initially inspired by soft pastel shades and a sense of lightness, innocence, and playfulness. Later we became drawn to a few moodier, deeper hues that contrasted the pastels and helped bring a bit of mystery to our serene setting. Hartley Botanica with its lush vines and tall wispy trees was the perfect backdrop in its all of its overgrown, un-touched appeal, and the soft diffused lighting it offered us felt whimsical, dreamy, and a bit un-real.

Our bride model in her simple, flowing gown, subtle makeup and hair, and delicate adornments had just that innocent, nostalgic look that we were so inspired by. The florals were pure play in color, texture, and juxtaposition, pairing romantic peonies, dahlias, and garden roses with unexpected textural elements like bouvardia, smokebush, viburnum berries, and deep purple artichokes.

We had fun with our table setting, too, incorporating mismatched vintage furniture, brass accents, and amethyst colored goblets. Our handmade woven tablecloth made from colorful strips of painted fabric added a bit of vintage-meets-modern cool. We hope this shoot presents some fresh and creative ideas for brides and wedding lovers alike!
