Garden Romance at the Kittle House

One thing is for sure, a wedding bursting with blooms is a wedding after my own heart. And when it’s a garden wedding at the Kittle House (hello, pretty rose bushes!), it’s even better. Forever In Bloom dotted the day with lush bouquets, ceremony florals and sweet yellow bouts and you can almost smell the roses and ranunculus. See every bit of lovely right here in the gallery from Ulysses Photography.

From Ulysses PhotographyThis was a romantic, lovebird-themed celebration to remember at the beautifully historic Kittle House. I think you’ll love the way her flowing greenery is echoed in her paperie. The spirit of the entire day was anchored by this energetic couple, who after cutting their gorgeous ombre wedding cake, then closed their evening with sparklers and s’mores at the fire pit. Guests went home with cookies handmade and decorated by the bride, as well as DIY cookie mix favors.

From the beautiful Bride…Getting engaged was a roller coaster of excitement. What started out as “OMG, I’m getting married!” quickly turned into “OMG!! I get to plan a wedding!!” That next day, I bought every wedding magazine I could get my hands on and made myself a Pinterest account, and the planning was in full force! I decided fairly early that I wanted the wedding to reflect me and my groom’s personalities and that I wanted to do a lot of the work myself. No wedding planner for this girl!

If I had to give my wedding vision a title, it would probably be “playfully romantic garden wedding with shabby chic accents.” I did my best to incorporate different styles to make a style of my own. My absolute favorite part of the wedding planning was the DIY projects! I’m a pastry chef, so I decided to make cookies for my place cards. I decorated each cookie with a number and bagged them with ribbon and the names of each guest. It took quite a bit of time, but it was a labor of love and I would do it again in a heartbeat. For our wedding favors, I also stuck with the baked goods theme. I filled mason jars with a decoratively layered cookie mix topped with burlap and lace. It was great hearing back from my guests in the weeks following the wedding about how their cookies came out!

The day of the wedding was absolutely magical! I had a great team of makeup artists, Jill and Jess from JKFlashy, and an amazing hair stylist, Diane of Salon Posh, who helped get me ready to walk down the aisle. The ceremony was filled with tears of joy (mostly my tears), and the party was one that I will never forget! Between the “rock your socks off” Jay Prince Band, and the bonfire and s’mores surprise at the end, I think everyone had a blast! Thank God I had such amazing photographers, Ulysses and Jenni of Ulysses Photography, to help capture the day, because it was one of the fastest days of my life. Now I get to relive it over and over again through the gorgeous photos!
