Romantic Blushing Affair in Wine Country
September can go either way in terms of seasonal style. End of summer bash or a pretty fall affair? This beauty lies somewhere in the middle and it has a crazy team of talent behind all the gorgeous details. Talent like Jasmine Star, a photographer who knows beautiful imagery like the back of her hand and Jacin of Lovely Little Details , a designer who’s details are the ones we favorite time and again. From The Bride…
We were looking for a romantic, outdoor location in wine country. Boot Hill at Kunde Family Estates was our dream site with huge live oak trees and 360-degree views of harvest-time vineyards. Gorgeous!! We wanted to allow the rustic beauty of the vineyards to take center stage, so all our décor was chosen to complement the views. Our colors were warm and natural (blush, coral, gold, and dark greens), and the chairs, linens, and table settings were a blend of rustic and romantic. Because the views were phenomenal, we kept the décor simple with only small succulents lining the aisle and large paper flowers on the oak behind the wedding party. We didn’t want to go with an “autumn” feel but wanted to keep the florals very indigenous and natural – think dahlias & ranunculus – and also mixed in seasonal fruit such as pomegranates, pears, apples and kumquats. Everything had a very “just picked” feel to it and nothing was too stuffy. The star of the show was the cafe au lait dahlia which made an appearance in my bouquet and some of the centerpieces. Here’s a few wedding planning tips: 1. Create a budget range and then prioritize the components of the wedding that are most important. Then realize that the actual cost can run 10 to 20 percent “over” budget, so plan accordingly! 2. Start looking at venues early to have the most choices. For example, the location venues we considered already began to fill 9-12 months prior to our desired wedding month. 3. If having an outdoor wedding, consider provisions for inclement weather. A tent to calm a windy day and/or keep guests dry on a rainy day is an example. Outdoor heaters for the cooler evening is another one.
