Classic Old Hollywood Glamour at Highlands Country Club

Not gonna lie, I spent a fair amount of time admiring this lovely little gallery from Michelle Lange. It’s classic Old Hollywood at Highlands Country Club, sprinkled with just the right amount of glitz and glam. From the Bride’s perfectly hot pink lip, to the gilded stationery (oh how I love the stationery) and hints of champagne throughout, it’s the kind of wedding that makes every guest feel fabulous. Take a peek right here for so much more!

From the beautiful Bride…Our wedding was inspired by classic, Old Hollywood glamour. Keeping it classic was important to us, because we wanted the feel of an elegant, black tie affair. However, I love a little glitz and glam so we tried to inject hints of this wherever possible. We kept our color palette simple and light, inspired by summer with ivories, pinks and blushes. We also chose to utilize pops of metallic gold to bring on the luxe-factor. I love the gold foil detailing on our invitations, for example.

Our venue, the Highlands Country Club, was the perfect fit for us because the gorgeous architecture, columned veranda and ballroom with the most beautiful chandelier we’ve ever seen, definitely brought the black tie atmosphere while also maintaining a sense of home, since we were able wander and use all parts of the property – as if our guests were at the most grandiose house party they’ve ever attended! We added so many special touches and DIY projects to make the space our own. I bought the champagne-colored sequin table linens on Etsy and they were one of my favorite touches because they really brought the ballroom to life. We also custom designed and created many of the wedding day details: our programs, our petal toss bags, our table numbers and all of the signage used throughout the venue. One of our favorite projects was the décor used in our ceremony tree. We strung crystals, glass votive lanterns, which held lit candles, and blush carnations from fishing line, all of which was strung so beautifully throughout the tree branches. We are also very proud of our favors, which doubled as our escort cards. Together with our families, we made and bottled limoncello and attached guests’ escort cards to the bottles. We are both Italian-American, and have spent lots of time living and traveling in Italy, so this was a special touch for us.

Our favorite wedding day memory is our first dance. We were nervous about dancing in front of an audience so we practiced some super simple choreography beforehand. While practicing we kept messing up, stepping on each other’s toes and we were nervous it wouldn’t be right on the day of! Plus, we were worried that Sal would step on my dress. When the time came, the dance went off without a hitch and we had a standing ovation from all of our guests! Our photographer snapped the most amazing photo of the dip and kiss and the end of the dance, which is one of our favorite photos from the whole wedding. Overall, everything went as planned and the day was more beautiful than we could have ever hoped.
