I love all weddings, I really do, but Southern Weddings just so happen to pull the hardest on my heartstrings. The romance is palpable, the style impeccable… so obviously, when this Southern wedding inspiration shoot popped up on my computer I was giddy with excitement. Ashley Upchurch and her talented team pulled together what I can only assume will be the top trendsetter in the seasons to come!
From Ashley Upchurch Photography… Tennessee in the summer is full of bright colors, warm sunshine, and luscious green fields so I knew it had to be incorporated into the backdrop for this summer wedding inspiration shoot. When we began planning this styled shoot I knew I wanted to expand on the idea of the southern wedding. Too many brides believe that a true southern wedding is full of burlap, mason jars, and baby’s breath. While those elements are still beautiful they don’t have to be the staple for a truly southern wedding. Angela and I, along with my fellow photographer friend, Leilani Evans of Elsy Photography, decided to use a color palette of peaches, light pinks, and corals to compliment the greens surrounding the location. By pairing these colors with gold flatware and gold-rimmed plates and glasses, we are showing brides how to incorporate southern elements with classic pieces. We chose a lacy Rivini gown for the bride and a dark navy suit for the groom to add to the southern charm. We also decided to have a more casual, organic style cake for this shoot.
