Packed with a glittering punch, this rustic wedding is covered in some serious sparkle. And when the bride is an aspiring event designer, you know the party will be pin-worthy perfection down to every. last. detail. Combining creative DIY decor with florals from Charming Events, the venue shimmered in gold and popped in pink, and you can see ALL the prettiness unfold in the gallery by Haley Rinn Ringo!
From the Bride…After meeting Jeremy at the young age of 12, we quickly became the best of friends. We soon learned that there was more to this little friendship of ours and started dating our freshman year of high school. After being boyfriend and girlfriend for what seemed like an eternity….11 years to be exact, he finally proposed on the most beautiful day in December. This wedding has been a long time coming and to us was something that held so much meaning. There were a lot of things leading up to this point for us, our family and friends that we all needed a day filled with love, laughter and happiness. We wanted this day to be a day that everyone would remember and would leave filled with so much love in their hearts. Yes! This day was about Jeremy and I starting this journey together of creating our own family but it was also about everyone who was there.
When searching for a venue, I wanted something that felt very pure, something that was one with nature but also something with a bare canvas so I could really create the vision that I had in my head. We ended up choosing The Springs Events located in Poetry, Texas. It was so breathtaking with all the beautiful trees it’s surrounded by as well as the sweet deer that frequently take little strolls across the property! It was beyond beautiful and then the “Wedding in the Woods” idea was born! It was such a labor of love created by everyone around us and so for that I also found my self creating many little details, like the neon pink escort cards that I painted with watercolor and then hand wrote each persons name with calligraphy gold ink. I also created small hand painted tree trunk place markers that were at everyone’s seat. I wanted these to be little gifts of love that they could take home along with a little mason jar filled with my Mom’s famous homemade chocolate chip cookies. Our friends and family mean so much to us and we wanted them to really feel that.
I glittered just about everything you could glitter, I hand drew out our invitations with a mixture of print and scroll writing then had them printed by a local printer which I then tied each one with a hand dipped ombre’ muslin strip of cloth. The Cake topper as well was super fun! I was able to draw it out and then have a family friend cut it out of metal which I then of course gold gilded it! You can’t go wrong with gold! I made big humongous tissue paper flowers that would line the staircase and sorted through many old funny photos from over the years of Jeremy and I that were then attached to a chicken wire that hung at the entrance. My Mom and I made the wedding cakes.
Mostly all of our vendors were small local businesses, for instance our florist Alicia, she is a single mom who works a full time job and then comes home and works full time running Charming Events, a Flower and Event shop out of her home. We met a lovely lady Laurie. She is a stay at home mom who runs Pretty Little Plates, a vintage china rental company, out of her home. She is so sweet and has the most beautiful China I have ever seen. Our food we used a local restaurant, Chiloso, they serve delicious Mexican cuisine. Every one who works there is so awesome and was the perfect addition to the big day. Our Photographer Haley Ringo is a student who is about to graduate from The University of Texas where she will continue to live out her dream of capturing the most beautiful moments through her camera. We have since become great friends and she has been such a blessing to our lives.
With all that said I think it really added so much fun and even more meaning to our special day. It wasn’t just about how perfect the big day ended up but it was about the journey getting there that was half the fun. These are people that we probably wouldn’t have met other wise and so for that we are very thankful for their friendships as well as all the hard work they put into our special day. We will forever be grateful and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
