This darling Bride, well, it’s no surprise her Big Day was what wedding dreams are made of. As co-owner of Gold Leaf Event Design & Production she crafted a beautiful soiree at her family’s home on Lake George—hello, gorgeous scenery! And it’s just the kind of laid back love that gets our hearts a-beating. See more in the gallery from Otto Schulze. Congrats Chelsea! xo
From Gold Leaf Event Design & Production… Chelsea grew up spending every summer of her childhood at her family’s lake house in the beautiful Adirondack Park of New York on Lake George. With its small town charm, unique location and tranquil scenery, she had always dreamt of getting married there someday. Chelsea and her husband, Chace live in Aspen, Colorado where they met, and four and a half year later got engaged during an intimate proposal at the top of the oldest ski lift on Aspen Mountain, the perfect location to promise “forever” to her, in hand a vintage heirloom ring that’s had a presence in his family for over 90 years. As Chace knew of Chelsea’s hopes to get married at her family’s home on Lake George, “someday” was set for June 28, 2013.
Chelsea, co-owner of Gold Leaf Event Design & Production, a high-end destination event management company, had seen every “type” of wedding, from extremely traditional to intensely modern. She and Chace knew what they really wanted for their wedding was a fun and relaxed affair to enjoy as much time as possible with friends and family. Guests stayed in lakeside homes, sans cell phone service, guests loved being able to really get away, a groomsmen states, “I loved the feeling, like we were at summer camp!” Guests were invited to dinner and cocktails at their welcome party and rehearsal dinner, speedboats were provided to transport guests around the lake, and there were several activities to get everyone acquainted, which is exactly what Chace and Chelsea had hoped for!
While Chelsea often has to remind her clients “the one thing we can’t control is the weather”, nobody was completely prepared for the flash flooding that took place the weekend of her wedding. Knowing she was marrying the man of her dreams, and surrounded by all of their loved ones, she was unfazed. The sun came out just in time for the ceremony, insight of a few raindrops and a double rainbow Chelsea, holding a bouquet of light pink peonies, and garden roses, approached the beautiful wedding arbor, as Chace waited patiently in his beige Bonobos suit. It was finally time for them to say, “I do”. In the laidback atmosphere the newlyweds had already created, guests kicked off their shoes, embraced the mud and danced the night away to a high-energy performance by Bobby Yang, and his Unrivaled Players, an untraditional Las Vegas band. The following day guests gathered at a farewell brunch to say goodbye to friends, old and new. All in all, it was the perfect wedding weekend!
Highlights…
• The wedding arch created a picturesque alter space, with the lake as it’s backdrop
• The invitation booklet was a great way to give guests all the information needed for the weekend, plus a packing checklist!
• Vintage décor pieces were strategically placed throughout the reception, making for a one of a kind event space.
• Chace and Chelsea’s favorite foods including mac & cheese, and a “build your own” gourmet salad station were some of the many options guests could choose from for dinner. Dessert consisted of cakes made by the mother of the bride, and local pies and crumbles! Yum!
• Transportation for wedding weekend events was by boat!
