Elegant Backyard Wedding in Australia

Moet & Chandon, garden roses and an elegant backyard… if I could hand-pick elements for a wedding re-do, these would all be a part of the mix. Captured by Bentinmarcs Fine Art Photography, this day is a collection of gorgeous images,  an intimate gathering of loved ones and a Bride who literally outfitted the entire wedding party with the help of her mom. From Bentinmarcs Fine Art PhotographySarah & Tristan had the sweetest intimate wedding held in their backyard with the closet friends and family members. To make the wedding even more amazing was the fact that Sarah and her Mum Kathy from The Ivory Gown made all the dresses, suits and Sarah’s beautiful wedding gown. I truly felt that I was part of the family, never feeling more welcomed at a wedding I even had my own table setting amongst the 18 guests.

From The Bride…I was never one of those girls who had her wedding dress planned in detail from a young age, which might be surprising considering I work with bridal gowns every day. I knew I wanted to include elements reminiscent of the glamour of the “Old Hollywood’ era, but largely let the design evolve as it was being made. I used all silk fabrics with the most beautiful, delicately beaded and sequinned lace and played around with the detail on the bodice until it looked just right. I had intended to sew silk covered buttons down the back of the dress, but I adored the way the lace looked without them, which meant I had to think of a new way to finish the back. The best and most seamless way was to be stitched into the dress! Although this might sound stressful to some, it actually felt really calming to have my mother slowly and carefully place the last stitches on the lace moments before the wedding. Having the opportunity to create my wedding dress with my mother was truly something special, and funnily enough one of the greatest fans of my dress became my dog, a 50kg Maremma, who sat right next to me on my silk train at every opportunity she could get!
