Stylish, Snowy NYC Wedding at Studio 450

It’s simply city chic perfection, where every detail has style for miles and even the snow showed up on cue. From The Bride…David and I are Ohio natives that met and fell in love in New York City. When it came time to plan our wedding we knew we wanted to share our big city home with our friends and out of town families. Our challenge was to have an “NYC wedding” that didn’t feel themed and we achieved this with our amazing venue: Studio 450. The penthouse loft space was the perfect place to showcase the views of the skyline and make our guests feel like they were attending a glamorous night out rather than at a stuffy wedding. The venue was also a beautiful blank white canvas where I could really get creative with everything from rentals and lighting to food and floral.

After a year of planning we came to the week of our wedding which surprised us with a blizzard. A family friend told me that “snow on your wedding day means that God is blessing your marriage” and we couldn’t have been happier with the bad weather! The snow made the weekend incredibly cozy and romantic, our guests really embraced the atmosphere. The bridal party and families spent the day at The Carlton Hotels incredible “New Yorker Suite” visiting and enjoying our mimosa bar while I prepared for the night. We later enjoyed an emotional “first look” and took to the streets for some stunning photos in the snow. After our ceremony concluded at the historic Church of the Incarnation, we surprised our guests with double-decker tour buses to take them on a quick jaunt through Times Square to the reception. Once at the reception the skies cleared and guests were able to dance the night away feeling like they were atop the city itself. It was an absolutely perfect weekend that we will cherish the rest of our lives.
