From Matoli Keely Photography…Everything about this shoot, from the gold accented column dress, seaglass earrings, breathtaking florals, and coliseum like architecture of the monastery was just exquisite. As a photographer, location is extremely important, and most often the source of inspiration. From the moment I drove by the Franciscan Monastery in Washington DC, its architecture, sheer beauty, and the pure grandeur of this location in the middle of a metropolitan city such as DC, instantly caught me eye. Built in 1898 in the monastic style of the late Romanesque, this location was the perfect backdrop and inspiration for a Grecian styled shoot.

The beautiful model Rachel, droned a Mark & James “Rhodes Harbor Gown” by Badgley Mischka. The column structure of the dress, gold sequined insert and golden sash set the stage for the beauty of the shoot, which was accentuated by Kenneth Jay Lane gold leaf cuff bracelet and Alexis Bittar seaglass lattice teardrop earrings.

The hair and makeup artist Jordan Winn created long flowing soft curls with braids pinned perfectly in the back, creating a romantic textured look, full of body and movement, perfectly paired with a beautiful makeup look including a golden smokey eye and soft pink nude lip. Tying everything together were amazing florals by Violet Gardens Floral Designs, first with a gorgeous peach rose garden accented with wild flowers headpiece worthy of a goddess, and secondly a bouquet full of ambrosial charm with the perfect balance of white anemones and succulents!
