Rustic Farmhouse Wedding in Maryland
After a tragic accident left the groom learning to walk, this couple was forced to set back their wedding date a year. While the rustic farmhouse affair was spilling with charming details from Heavenly Flowers, we'd have to agree with Meaghan Elliott Photography; what's best about this wedding is their love story and courage. From Meaghan Elliott Photography...Shannon and Chris are incredibly sweet people… I couldn’t ask for sweeter clients. And, they had quite the setback for their wedding planning.
They were actually planning to get married last September 14th, however, Chris got in a jet ski accident, shattered his pelvis, and couldn’t walk.
So, they postponed the wedding, and I just can’t even imagine how much stronger they are for going/growing through that trial. Sadly some people might have walked away from a hard situation like that… but not these guys. Shannon was at his side the entire way… pushed him in his wheelchair, and stood beside him through his rehab.
They know commitment…. they know hard work…. they know it takes two…. that there is give and take in relationships, and that they sure aren’t easy.
When you stand up there and say your vows.... through good times and bad…you generally have no idea what life will throw at you, but I can say without a doubt that these guys understand that statement and are ready for whatever life throws.
I loved that while walking around with them for photos, Shannon would just look into his eyes, and tell him that she loved him… like a giddy teenager. Her love poured out of her heart so strongly, that she just couldn’t not tell him… She looked at him with complete adoration and affection… and he did the same to her.
They know trial and commitment, and the sweetness that comes out in the end. Their journey wasn’t easy, but they battled through and they have a deeper love because of it.
So, as much as I ADORE their details and their venue…. it doesn’t matter all that much. What I really love about this wedding is their love story and their courage.
