From the Bride...When my groom, Daniel, proposed to me, we knew pretty soon afterward that we wanted to have a destination wedding. Looking at dates, we settled on January 4th, and we could think of nothing better than escaping the cold of winter and trading in our sweatshirts for shorts. Los Cabos is truly a magical place, and after having visited it that summer, we knew it would be a perfect location to have a wedding. When we broke this idea to our family and friends, they were thrilled to have a wedding that doubled as a beach vacation. While planning our wedding, it was important to me to infuse it with Mexican culture; I really did not want to have a wedding with a country club feeling in Mexico. The invitations were lacey and reminiscent of papel picado, a type of Mexican folk art. While traveling, I became enamored with Milagros: a type of charm used in Latin America and some European countries as religious petitions to saints and God and had them printed in the background of our programs and used them as escort cards. For flowers, I went with bright-colored ones that contrasted with my bridesmaidsâ black dresses. When people would ask me about my colors, I think they thought I was crazy when I answered that they were red, orange, green, white and black. My other favorite details were my dress, the flower lasso and the mariachi band for cocktail hour. All in all, I can truly say that my wedding was so beautiful that it felt like we were in a dream. When carrying out a destination wedding, you give up a lot of control; thank goodness I had the wonderful and capable Arianna OâCampo as my wedding planner. She is so down-to-earth and understands your vision and executes it wonderfully. In terms of photography I fell in love with Sara Richardsonâs soft and warm photos when I was looking for a photographer, and I honestly believe that she is one of the most talented photographers out there. It was an honor and joy to work with her and her husband. We are in love with our photos and will cherish them forever. Looking back, we feel so lucky to have been celebrated and supported by so many loved ones and friends. This day wouldnât have been the same without you all. Thank you for sharing in our joy!
