From Lovely Day Styling & Events… We’re blessed to live and work in New England within a landscape rich in history and filled with beautiful architecture. Among the rolling hills and stone rock walls are a handful of elaborate Connecticut estates that date back to the early 1900’s. These original mansions make unforgettable wedding venues, and we set out to design an inspirational shoot that shares the glamorous heritage of these homes. We chose Waveny House in New Canaan, CT as our venue after falling in love with the gardens and intricate details like the original hand-painted wallpaper that is featured throughout the house. We chose Pride & Prejudice as our overall theme and had wonderful time pulling in thoughtful details from the period piece. For the overall color palette we chose blush, gold and deep crimson – opulent shades that were featured often throughout the day.Kathy at Sasafrass Vintage provided incredible vintage furniture and accessories that filled the house with warmth. A pink velvet settee made its debut in the light-filled breakfast room and rose tufted chairs made beautiful seats for our Bride and Groom. Lauren at Borrowed Vintage provided mint-condition, mismatched, gold-rimmed china for our place settings, along with crystal champagne flutes and wine goblets.The divine florals by Jakkelyn Iris Designs were pieces of art, featuring dramatic king protea, Sarah Bernhardt peonies, ivory ranunculus, clematis and red grapes in the organic but sophisticated bouquet and centerpiece. Erica O’Brien Cake Design created a visually stunning traditional wedding cake with a twist.Dana of Dana Bartone & Co. worked hair and makeup magic on our (real life) couple to create looks that were timeless but contemporary. Ashley Caroline Photography and Caddy Whompus Productions captured the day for us, providing the exquisite images that we can’t get enough of! It was the kind of day you wanted to slip right into, and we hope it inspires couples looking to add vintage accents to their modern wedding day.
