Romantic and Elegant Lubbock Texas Wedding at The Historic Watson Building

I am pretty darn sure I’ll be spending my entire day devouring each and every stunning image sitting in this gallery from Marcie Meredith Photography. Because not only is there a whole lot of pretty tucked in that gorgeous collection of images, but there is also a whole lot of love. The result? A wedding I simply can’t get enough of.

From the Bride…James and I met during our first year of medical school in Lubbock, Texas and started dating two years later. Living in Lubbock was such an important time in both of our lives that we knew there was no better place to get married. We spent 7 months planning our wedding while interviewing and applying for residency positions across the United States. Because of the difficult process of “Matching” into residency, we were not sure if we would be living in the same city, let alone the same state, once we were married. It was a bit stressful. Regardless, we wanted our wedding day to be a celebration of the love that we have for each other and our family and friends.

We found the Kent R. Hance Chapel to be intimate with a sense of elegance that set the mood for the evening. We also wanted the ceremony to be fun, in matching with our personalities. Our sign in “book” was a wooden Texas (we’re moving to Georgia and wanted to take a piece of Texas with us.) My Daddy and I fist bumped before he gave me away, and James and I walked out to “You’ve Got What I Need” by Freddie Scott.

The reception was located at the Watson Building with beautiful hardwood floors and tall ceilings.

We had 3-foot diameter balloons floating high above the tables with ivory ribbon hanging down. This was definitely my favorite touch to our decorations. Lou Dee’s Floral also created gorgeous arrangements with champagne, blush, raspberry and gold colors in both the reception and ceremony spaces.

The evening was spent out on the dance floor, and enjoying laughter and love with our friends and family. It could not have been any better. Most of all, the best part is we’re now married and get to spend the rest of our lives together!
