DIY and darling as all get out, this Maryland farm wedding is as charming as they come. Beautifully captured by Eastport Photography, this sweet fête is not only pretty, but oh-so-personal – making it practically impossible to not fall in love with every image sitting in this gallery.
From Eastport Photography…Annie and Jeff met in Africa while in the Peace Corps. “Jeff and I met in the peace corps in The Gambia, West Africa. He arrived a year before me and we met at a party celebrating my group officially becoming volunteers after 2 months of training. We liked each other so much he ended up staying an extra year. We lived about six hour away from each other, and visits meant waking up at the crack of dawn to catch and minibus and arriving covered In Orange dust. We liked it. We finished our service at the end of 2010 and travelled to morocco, Spain, and France.”
For their wedding, they chose the scenic farm setting of Ostertag Vistas in Myersville, MD. Annie and Jeff lucked out with a sunny and beautiful spring day. Annie and Jeff kept many of the details of the wedding simple and natural to complement the simplicity and natural beauty of the Ostertag Vistas Farm. And much of the wedding was DIY! Annie did her own hair and makeup like a pro and she made beautiful bouquets from wildflowers. Friends helped out with the cake, desserts, invitations, DJ’ing, and even officiating the wedding! And Annie’s mom made the wedding favors – homemade honey from her honey hive in California. This wedding was definitely a group effort and made for a truly special day.
The couple decided on a first look, which took place at an adorable cottage on the property. After a few tears (on Jeff’s part), we were able to take some gorgeous portraits of the couple and their wedding party. Before the ceremony, close family and friends gathered inside the small cottage to sign the Ketubah, which was hand-painted by one of Annie’s bridesmaids. The intimate ceremony took place outside, with both mothers delivering special messages to the couple, and Annie and Jeff reciting vows they had written themselves. For the rest of the evening, guests enjoyed dinner and dancing in the barn.
