As summer slowly gives way to fall, this beautiful mountain wedding couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s a celebration of all things autumn with an intimate 30-guest approach, and as for the killer styling and blooms by Philosophy Flowers? Well, that doesn’t hurt one bit either. Get started in the gallery from Boonetown Story and prepare to be smitten.
From the Bride… Breathtaking = one word to describe every part of our wedding day. From the scenery, to the flowers, to the man I was about to marry- every little detail was breathtaking.
Marcus and I lived on Heavenly Mountain in Boone, NC during his senior year of college. The beauty and serenity was incomparable & it’s the place we fell in love. It only felt natural to get married in the place we love most, the NC Mountains.
Twickenham house was a fairy tale from the moment you turned into the 2 mile long driveway. The same way you know you’ve found “the one” is the way we knew Twickenham was the place we would get married. The wrought iron gates at the entrance, the ivy growing up the brick, the breathtaking 180 degree views, all nestled in seclusion on the side of a mountain. It was perfect for our intimate wedding weekend with 30 of our closest friends and family.
The morning of our wedding, I was very calm; no nerves or anxiety. My wedding planner, Melissa, said “you’re the calmest bride I’ve ever seen!” Apparently my groom wasn’t nervous either; I heard he went on a morning jog then sat in the sauna for a while. When the moment came to take our “first look” pictures, that’s when everything hit me. All these emotions flooded my head and my heart; excitement, nerves (I didn’t want to fall), happiness, love, etc… This was the moment I had been waiting for all my life. To marry my soul mate. It was the most emotional moment of my life.
Everything about our wedding day was perfect. It was so much more than we dreamed. The only thing we would change would be the ability to add more hours to the day.
