Classic-Chic Dallas Wedding

When you pair a restored industrial building like the Hickory Street Annex with gilded detailing, touches of green and loads of ivory blooms, it’s sure to be a classic, yet chic wedding in the making. And it sooo works. Not to mention, the backdrop makes for some seriously pretty bridal portraits of the stunning Bride, who was glowing thanks to Elan Makeup Studio! It’s a cozy, candlelit kind of gallery from Chapa Images that you won’t want to miss.

From the beautiful Bride… When my husband & I searched for the venue to get married at, we ran across a “hidden gem” that was right outside of downtown Dallas called Hickory Street Annex. Talk about amazing… an old 1900’s oil distribution center that was restored with its original character—beautiful, exposed brick & beams, nearly 360 degree view of windows, & my favorite– the old, but WORKING elevator shaft. This venue couldn’t have been more perfect for us- a place large enough to hold a ceremony AND reception while providing a classy/ chic/ industrial look, and a shuttle service to/from the hotel. The downstairs was used for the bridal suite and “Cocktail Hour”, while the upstairs was used for the ceremony & reception.

The day-of, I had a group of loving and devoted family and friends help me set up my dream wedding- including a vast amount of Pinterest- inspired ideas. From a “Cookie Bar” to a “Cigar Bar,” all personally made decisions on each little detail. We had old window panes to list our Seating Chart, corks to hold each name’s place card, customized Etsy koozies, “dancing shoes” (Old Navy flip flops) for dancing at the reception, and large (empty) wine barrels to use as cocktail tables/ sign holders. Every corner you turned, there were mini mason jars that had little votive candles inside, mason jars topped with hydrangeas and filled with photos & oil to make it look like “old photographs,” and even an old wooden door just to add a little rustic/chic look. We also had a photo booth for some fun reception memories!

The night finished with “send-off” sparklers (which also made for some awesome photos), and a “carriage ride” (a surprise from my parents) just like Cinderella! The whole wedding day/ night was perfect, but what I loved the most was being with my husband to see all the DIY/ personally-made touches/decorations/decisions all come together!
