Intimate Villa Catureglio Wedding

From the Bride and Groom… As a British national, precious time with our friends and family is rare. A destination wedding seemed the perfect excuse for a group holiday. We chose Italy as a location and Villa Catureglio in the small Tuscan town of Borgo a Mozzano as our venue. A 13th century property with a central villa, chapel and five small cottages in the grounds, 41 of our 60 guests were accommodated for four nights. We were married in the garden on a beautifully sunny day in May, with the small chapel as our backdrop. The ceremony was a simple affair, our bridal party consisted of our best man and my twin sister as maid of honour. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed an 'apperitivo' on the lawn, with prosciutto, local cheeses and prosecco. The photo shoot was fun and relaxed and included a trip to the local medieval "devil's bridge". Later we enjoyed a traditional rustic four-course Italian feast and fantastic Italian wine in the open air, surrounded by fairy lights. The Long tables had been beautifully decorated with fresh peonies, herbs and candles thanks to our dear friends; Fiona Deans-Dundas from couture wedding planning and Sydney-based florist Maria Lush, who also created our bouquets. The day ran smoothly thanks to my brother's MC skills (and his military training). We danced into the early hours under the stars.
