Want to take some stunning engagement pics, all the while paying homage to the Lone Star State? Then spend your day frolicking around a gorgeous bluebonnet field (Texas’ state flower) like these two cuties did. It’s the perfect combo of Texas pride, love-filled moments and jaw-droppingly gorgeous beauty. See it all captured by dV Photography right here.
From the Bride-to-Be… Austin and I got engaged on a chilly day in New York City last winter. It was the perfect moment. We sat in Central Park imagining what life would be like as a married couple and the kind of wedding we wanted to have.
We both currently live in Houston together, so we knew we wanted our engagement session to bring light to our home in Texas. What better way to bring the Lone Star State into our photos than to surround ourselves with bluebonnets? (For any non-Texans out there, the bluebonnet is the state flower.) One problem… finding a bluebonnet field is harder than it sounds. Our photographers (who are also close friends) spent most of the day driving in and around Navasota, TX with us until we found the perfect field. And when we finally found it, we stayed until sunset.
Austin and I couldn’t be happier with our photos. They completely captured us and the casual feel we were hoping for. We both love the simplicity and natural elements each photo brings and we will always remember that day we spent in the bluebonnet fields. Our next outdoor adventure will be at Maroon Bells in Aspen, Colorado where we plan to have an intimate summer wedding in the mountains.
